Zed Homes

ZedHomesZEDHomes is committed to building homes and workplaces that are better by design; that recognise the changes in how we live and work; that are environmentally sustainable and energy saving. ZEDHomes builds communities that live and work together; that create a positive impact on their environment; that instigate greater social responsibility and set a new standard in development.

The technology and ability exists to significantly reduce the strain we place on the earth's natural resources and ZEDHomes believe it is inexcusable not to put this knowledge to good use. ZEDHomes has committed itself to using better design and smarter thinking to significantly reduce the strain our buildings place on the one world we all share.

ZEDHomes builds low and zero carbon developments - buildings that are both affordable to buy and affordable to run. ZEDHomes uses proven technology to minimise the energy demands of our buildings and provides alternative energy sources that place no demands on our environment. In order to achieve low and zero carbon developments we must heat and power our buildings from renewable energy sources. To achieve this ZEDHomes creates buildings that require just one fifth of the amount of energy demanded by traditionally built buildings.

Sustainable Homes

Sustainable Homes promotes awareness of sustainable development issues and good practice, and encourages housing associations to adopt sustainable and environmental policies and practices. Through websites, training and research, a wealth of information is provided. Recent projects include 'Green Choices and Voices'- a guide to what residents think of environmental housing - and 'Green Street' - a free online toolkit for sustainable refurbishment. Sustainable Homes also coordinates all of the sustainability projects funded by the Housing Corporation's Innovation and Good Practice (IGP) programme.
